Supporting Indigenous families with children from birth to 6 years with their child’s development. We strive to honour our families’ unique cultural diversity.
Ages: 0 to 6 years
The early years are a key time for a child’s growth and development; they are foundational for the skills that he/she will acquire in the future. Our aboriginal infant development program is here to provide early intervention services through one-on-one support to parents and care givers. The consultants provide programming in the home, at the CDC or during community visits to our Indigenous communities.
Who should be referred
Any child between the ages of birth to 6 years of age who is at risk for a delay or with concerns regarding their development in the areas of language, social skills, general motor development, and/or cognitive development.
How to access the program.
Parents/guardians can make a referral directly to our program, as well as doctors, nurses, social workers, and others who have concerns. Referrals should be made only with the parent/guardian knowledge and consent.
