Job Summary
Responsibilities & Abilities:

Under  the  direction  of  the  Supervisor,  the  Infant  Development Consultant will provide services for infants and toddlers (birth to three years) and their families to facilitate the children’s development. The Consultant works in accordance with the philosophy, policies and guidelines of the Child Development Centre Society and the Provincial Infant Development Program.

Functions

  • Supports the family in developing and maintaining loving relationships with their child.
  • Assists the family in planning and providing experiences in the home and community which will encourage the growth and development of the child.
  • Responsible for the recording of home visits and other contacts, assessing the development of the child, and ensuring that parents and relevant professionals are sent reports regarding the progress of the child.
  • In cooperation with the Supervisor, the Consultant is responsible for providing services, information and support to families regarding health care, social/educational/health alternatives, service coordination, availability of resources (e.g.: books, toys, videos), and networking with other parents.
  • Acts as  a  member  of  a  multi-disciplinary  team  planning  and  providing intervention for children referred to the Infant Development Program.
  • Completes program statistics and other reports as required.
  • Performs other related duties.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a minimum of a diploma or degree in a field related to early childhood development, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • One year, recent, related experience working with infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years) with developmental delays, their families, and other professionals
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to roadworthy vehicle
  • Must complete a Criminal Records Review

  • Wage $37.89 - $47.20
